15.  Title:  Thurman Munson
           
Thurman Munson was one of the few players to ever carry the title of “Captain.”  He played the game hard and clean, and was a big inspiration to his teammates and fans.  In this painting, Lopa captured Munson’s true character, and the piece has brought tears to people’s eyes all over the world.  Munson was taken for baseball before his time and will never be forgotten.  Three editions were created from the original:  the Deluxe (15 prints), the Artist Proof (15 prints), and the Regular.
